Hi everyone Im Keith Rogalla a sophomore who attends Creighton university, I play baseball here and Im a journalism major. I am born and raised in Oak Park IL, a little town about 5 minutes outside of the city. I love the fact that i grew up with the greatest city in the world in my backyard. I am the youngest of 3 boys, my brothers are named jack and greg. I also have two dogs, bailey and casey.Im taking this course because i just recently switched my major from business to journalism, and this in entry level class that i thought i should take the class. I Don’t have much experience with with media, I do use social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter ect. I also have been interviewed for baseball so i know a little bit about press conferences watch here and that side of media.I don’t really pay much attention to the news these days unless its some thing that is major news. I do really like my sporting news, and for that i love my app on my phone bleacher report, it has all my favorite teams and all the daily news and great articles to read as well. I love my phone and being on my computer. I love sports and love reading articles about them and keeping up with my sporting news so Im constantly on my phone and computer every chance i get. I really am not a fan of news and current events because i think that journalist just shine more of a spotlight on the bad things and forget to mention all the good things that are going on. For an example Im from Chicago and i think we get so much negative attention due to all the violence and being named the murder capital of the world, but Its such a beautiful place to live and raise a family, but no one wants to hear about all the good things just the bad. I really have no experience with this kind of stuff and programing but Im very interested in learning because i would love to learn and maybe write for a sporting company. I think there are both positives and negatives to the amount of media that our generation is using today. Positives are that people have easy access to the news, which is different from 50 years ago when you had to sit down and read the paper or turn on the 5 o’clock news to find out whats going on. The negatives are that our generation is relying to much on there phone and computer instead of connecting with people. Both are valid arguments but i think that people are adapting well to the newer generation of geting news and are accepting the fact that our world is getting more technology advanced and our world is evolving for the better or for the worst.
